The Iosis staff bring a wealth of experience and skills to the families they work with:
Community Social Work Team
Community social workers travel with client families in the implementation of their Family Roadmap.
Admin team members greet visitors, make initial needs assessments, and provide the financial and administrative support to keep the organisation functioning smoothly.
Counselling & MenD Team
Counsellors help people process beliefs and emotions that can help or hinder their personal journeys. MenD facilitators provide individualised group and one-on-one programmes for fathers.
Foster Care Team
The Foster Care team works with families, Oranga Tamariki and foster carers so children and young people needing temporary short or long term care are placed in a safe, nurturing environment.
This team supports, guides and teaches parents in the Merivale residential parenting programme.
Parent Support Team
Parent Support workers provide home-based and individualised parent coaching and support.
Social Workers in Schools Team
School-based family support workers come alongside students and their families.
A Day in the Life
of a School Social Worker
When children and young people struggle with their education, health or social development it can be an early warning sign of deeper issues at home.
By working with the student and their family, the school social worker aims to see children become safe and healthy, with a strong sense of identity and supportive relationships around them.
