Parent Support and Coaching

IOSIS operates a Parent Support Program in the South Auckland area for those people who are finding it difficult to cope either because of: ill health; difficulties with children; maintaining routines or new babies in the family.

Our team of dedicated staff go into the homes of people who most need assistance and unobtrusively gain their trust, by offering help and guidance.

The clients learn skills by being with the support worker, and by having someone who will listen to them, talk to them and teach them. They also are able to recommend other IOSIS services like Parenting Programmes, the assistance of Counselling or Social Work if they should need it.

Only once the client is able to manage without assistance, will the key worker leave the situation, making certain that supports are available should they be required.

This is a free community service and extends for a period of time over 15-30 hours which translates to visits per week. These are renewable if the situation requires it.

ruby1.jpgThe name IOSIS is a greek work meaning "the process by which a base metal becomes gold". It is the power of a miraculous transformation and it is our inspiration.

We believe strongly in the power of transformation in people's lives; that despite the challenges they face, we know they can make significant changes for the sake of their children. We are committed to providing a set of practical support and learning processes to encourage, educate and come alongside families who are struggling to change habits of violence, addiction and offending to help them create a safe and secure environment for the children.p_2.gif
