Social Worker in Schools Team Leader

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of 10 Social Workers working in 14 primary, intermediate and high schools in Manurewa and Papakura and a financial mentor.

You will be responsible for providing leadership and supervision by encouraging effective performance through the management of quality systems, coaching and development of staff and integration of their work and roles within the school environment.
Location: Manurewa, South Auckland

Do you have a passion to work with vulnerable families in the community of South Auckland?

As a Community Social Worker, you will work with vulnerable families to develop a plan towards overcoming challenges and making the changes needed to ensure the safety and well being of children. Working from a strengths based perspective, you will have strong assessment skills and an ability to meaningfully engage, often reluctant families in interventions that inspire, motivate and enable change for good.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a school in Manurewa providing early intervention and preventative social work services to children and their families from a strengths based approach. You will have a significant opportunity to identify and address factors which put students' education outcomes at risk. The workload will be varied and each day you will be faced with the challenge of utilising your knowledge, skill and networks to produce the best outcome for families and students whilst been well supported by clinical supervision and training.
